Change makes me antsy. That's why I love this series so much—it's basically the same thing, but with different characters. You know you should train the weak guy and he'll be awesome. You also know who's going to be an exp vacuum. And, let's face it, the main character kind of rocks, no matter which one you're playing.
Needless to say, I was a little wary about this whole "my unit" thing for Mystery of the Emblem. From what I understand, the main character (the Ike, Ephiram, Eliwood, whatever) is someone you create yourself. So even if it is, supposedly, a direct sequel of Shadow Dragon, Marth isn't the main character. It's someone you create; they have a customizable class, gender, history, etc. This seemed a little weird at first.
But the more I thought about it, the more I thought of how cool it would be. I mean, come on, we can all [essentially] put ourselves in the game. If I want my main character to be a black-haired, female marksman, why the heck not? I probably can. Never mind the fact I can't shoot an arrow in real life. Who cares? I can, in the Fire Emblem world.
This game is being released in Japan next month. Haven't heard anything regarding the US release, but it can't be too far behind. You'd think.
